Murder Hornets, Burned Hands, And More

Hello everyone!

Update on tooth situation! After an emergency visit to the dentist I can once again enjoy non-room temperature beverages and food. A big thanks to those who donated to my Kofi page. Your tips played a part in getting me out of a tight predicament.

I planned to write and illustrate more today. However that was not to be. After much chopping I set some soup upon the stove and allowed it to gurgle, filling the apartment with a mouthwatering aroma. I grew cocky while I getting a bowl and managed to first burn my thumb on steam, then tipped the bowl onto one hand before trying to right it and dousing the other. So I’m writing and then returning my hand to ice, illustrating and then returning my hands to ice…you get the picture.

I’m starting to wonder if I am cursed. It’s more interesting than admitting I’m clumsy.

What I’m watching: I’m rewatching old episodes of Community.

What I’m reading: The Square Meal by Jane Ziegelman and Andrew Coe. It’s about the history of food during the Great Depression.

What I’m eating: When I’m not burning myself I’m cooking my way through the Alison Roman cookbook. Certain dishes had become regular features in our house. The charred peppers smothered yuzu sauce and lime juice are a particular favorite.

What I’m learning: I’m still working on animation with Skillshare classes.
