Hello everyone!
Is anyone else addicted to coffee? Well, maybe not addicted, but do you feel that without a hit of caffeine in the morning and early afternoon your energy starts to fade?
I do. However, my stomach made its distaste for copious amounts of the strong brew known. So I found some matcha tea to drink during the afternoons.

I’m not sure when I last had an iced matcha latte, but it’s been too long. I’d gotten a mix and it was creamy, delicate, refreshing, AND came with a caffeine boost. A week went by and I enjoyed 2-3 cups a day, happy to have found a healthy alternative to coffee.
Then I ran out of mix and the headaches started. Even with coffee, the headaches persisted.

After a couple of days I restocked my matcha mix. When I drank that first glass the headaches stopped. What was this magic? Had the antioxidants in the tea cured a hitherto unknown medical malady?
Then I glanced at the nutrition label.

Our house has very little sugar. I’d gone from eating less than a teaspoon a day to…a lot more than ten teaspoons.

Of course I’m going to finish my supply, I don’t like to waste food. But I will miss the days when I lived in sugar-buzzed ignorance with my iced matcha latte.
