Hello everyone!
I hope you are having a fantastic week :D The last few days for me have been busy, but rewarding. Even when one big thing did not work out, it sort of did in unforeseen ways.
Yesterday I went to a job fair. I got dressed up in my best (only) slacks, put my hair up into something presentable, and made my way to the hotel where it was being held, with my resumes in hand.
There were lots of people there already. However, though many of the applicants arrived hopeful, the prospects were grim. Only four rickety tables were set up in the cavernous room.

Two of the employers were from different “we-aren’t-a-fake-university” universities.
The other two were temp jobs. I, along with the other 60 people, will put in applications for those limited spots. On the plus side the whole affair did produce an idea for a funny story! And that’s the beauty of humor, you can find it in some of the bleakest moments.
The thought came to my head, “This is the saddest fair I’ve ever been to.”
BING! Rides at a job fair.
Luckily I’d done something similar before, in this Mediumland piece.
I’m still working with the idea, and will show you more progress photos in the next newsletter, but here is a sneak peek at what may (or may not) end up in the finished post.

This weekend I’m going to do lots of writing, reading, drawing, and applying for jobs. But I’ve also just washed the sheets and pillowcases so I will stay in bed an extra hour just to smell the freshness. Honestly though, recently laundered sheets are one of my weaknesses.

Below are some new and very old funny reads. All are friend links, so you can access them even if you don’t have a Medium membership:

Cat surprises human family with gifts.
Are these quotes about Santa or my ex-boyfriend?

Here is a very old one where I give Christmas stories a modern twist, published in The Junction.
If you know the story of Pandora, then you know she would be a YouTube unboxing sensation.

Finally, some unusual ways to make friends that you probably have not tried.
2 other writers I enjoy reading!
Roz is a great humorist, editor, and librarian who makes me laugh daily. She’s got excellent storytelling skills and is a joy to read. Check out some of her work!
Your cat does not belong on the dining room table.
Next is Emma, a comic and writer who has made me care deeply about her love life and her cats. Primarily her cats because I am a cat person. Read her writer diaries. They are one of the highlights of my week.
Check out one post (or several) from her writer diary series!
Thanks for reading everyone!
