Hello everyone!
I hope the holiday season is treating you well! Though I’ve been publishing less, I’ve been keeping busy. For the last week I’ve written (so many) cover letters and spent quality time with my partner who has a rare vacation. Though I did escape our small apartment to a secret spot in the fancier apartment complex nearby when I needed to write or draw in private.

During his vacation we visited the famous Winchester Mystery Mansion. It’s a large manor with over 100 rooms built by a woman who was convinced that the ghosts of those who died after being shot by her family’s namesake gun were haunting her. To appease them she kept construction going on her home until the day she died. Doors open to sheer drops and stairs lead to nowhere. It’s a bizarre place. That being said, there was also quite a bit of beauty and innovation to be seen.

On another day we visited a local museum that features Egyptian and alchemy exhibits. I loved it all. As a child I was obsessed with Egypt, especially their mythology. I’m extremely grateful I got to see a bit of the history up close.

The alchemy exhibit was particularly thrilling. I only wish it were larger. Who wouldn’t want to spend hours getting a better glimpse into the early attempts to make the philosopher’s stone?

Our culinary abilities were put to the test this week as well. He made latkes for me on the first night of Hanukkah. I cooked Christmas dinner and made him watch a Muppet’s Christmas Carol. Yes, he loved it.

Even while doing all of that (and more) I did write lots of fun stories. I hope you take a moment to find one or two you enjoy!
