Hi everyone!
Hope your week is going well! I thought I’d drop by with some quick recommendations, musings, and stories you may enjoy.
What I’m reading
Solutions and Other Problems
The long-awaited return of Allie Brosh is much-needed. Her comics and writing got me (and so many) through rough times and this book is a mix of hilarity and sadness, like her blog. I finished this already because it was a preorder and fell into my Kindle right before I was about to go to sleep. But this is one I’ll read again and again.
Kaibō: The Supernatural Cats of Japan
I feel the title is very self-explanatory. Zack Davisson does a great job sorting through the history, stories, and amazing artwork featuring various cat creatures throughout Japan.
What I’m cooking
Homemade Hamburger Helper
We can’t have boxed stuff anymore for health reasons, but this version has less dairy and is super tasty. I highly recommend. Though do add more flavoring than is listed otherwise it comes out a bit bland. Oh, and peas. That way you will feel like you are eating healthy.
What I’m watching
My partner and I have been watching Death Note as a way to have “date nights” again.
One disappointment that I must warn you about
While at the store to restock on coffee, I saw seasonal maple-flavored coffee. I imagined it would taste like pancakes on a Sunday morning or an outing to IHOP. I eagerly brewed it on the weekend and it was…fine. Not the worst, but not the maple euphoria I’d been expecting. Be wary so you don’t get sucked into the allure of maple products that lie right to your face.
A few of stories you may laugh at and/or learn from:
These mythical beasts are here to tell you why you should be very afraid of them.
If you’re a writer make sure you don’t end up in one of these circles of Writer’s Hell.
Thanks for reading!
