Hello everyone!
Let’s take a look at some process photos from an unpublished piece, “Dating Apps in Greek Myths.”

This is cropped to make it easier to read, but to start I imagined some apps I could create based on genres and history/literature. If I could only think of one app for the genre, I moved on, coming up with more topics until something clicked. For example my “delivery apps from the 19th century” came up blank. Yet I had three ideas right away for this Greek myth one. So that’s what I picked. Then I started to quickly sketch out/write ideas until I had a handful to choose from.

The next step is drafting. The POV is the creator or an energetic salesperson. When taking a break from writing I took my app ideas and brainstormed how to best create an icon that would get the point across.

This is a first draft I made to figure out if it would work. The lightning bolt is a keeper since it immediately brings to mind Zeus and the name of the app. But I’m not sure if I want it to go through the heart. It doesn’t catch the tone I want for the satire. So I will go back to the drawing board.
When writing or drawing humor remember to always do a check-in. If you don’t laugh, there is a very good chance no one else will.
In other news my stomach has been a monster the last few days, and it got super bad yesterday evening. The worst part is not knowing why it’s acting like this.

But at least I have an excuse to make some chicken soup!

And it did make prove the relevancy of one of the books from my new humor piece. Click the book to read the full post and see what other self help books I could write.

I also drew this silly comic where I came up with 5 different streams of income.

You can also check out the graveyard of the many goals I’ve had throughout the years.

Thanks for reading!
